Jupiter (south-southeast) and Saturn (east south-east) are visible into late evening, with Jupiter setting around 10pm and Saturn around 3am. There are no "morning stars" this month.

Announcements

The Minn-StF board of directors has accepted the revised High Resolution Minicon proposal; a press release from the board on the topic is enclosed.

From the board minutes: Paragraph 2 (Meetings of Members), Section 6 (voting eligibility), Subsection d of the Minn-Stf By-Laws is hereby changed to read: d) General convention committee meetings, except that general convention meetings cannot count for more than four (4) of the seven (7) required to vote.

Born to Jane Strauss and Rex Bryant on Oct 1, 1997, Rafael Bryant-Strauss. He was very ill and went through a shell-person phase and a borg phase, but is now low-tech and will soon be a real human baby: they expect him to come home sometime early in Nov.
