Bruce Schneier's The Twofish Encryption Algorithm was published by John Wiley & Sons.

Jerry Stearns' radio serial Permafrost, MN is nominated for a Golden Headset Award from Audioworld magazine, in the Best Multi-cast Production category. Winners will be announced in October. Nominees can be seen at www.mtn.org/~jstearns/headsets99.html. CDs are available at Dreamhaven.

Peg Kerr's The Wild Swans (Warner/Aspect) is 3rd on the April Locus List for trade paperbacks.

Komarr by Lois McMaster Bujold won the Minnesota Book Award in the sf/f class.

Movie and tv rights to Neil Gaiman's Stardust have been sold, and Gaiman hired as script writer and executive producer for the project. (source: LOCUS)

Bestsellers lists in May Locus include Neil Gaiman's Stardust as #3 hardcover on the Locus list and on the Amazon.com list, and as #8 hardcover on the Barnes and Noble/B. Dalton list. Gaiman's Neverwhere was #7 paperback on the Amazon.com list.

According to Locus, the 1999 Isaac Asimov Award for Undergraduate Excellence in SF and Fantasy Writing was awarded to a Marissa Lingen of Gustavus Adolphus College
