Weird Tales Fall 1999 issue contains the poem The Mannikin's Child by Ruth Berman, and the short story WebMage by Kelly David McCullough.

A Civil Campaign has gone back for a second printing, and has spent two weeks in the 20’s on the New York Times Hardcover Fiction Bestseller List.

1999 World Fantasy Awards nominations include The Antelope Wife by Louise Erdrich (set in Minneapolis and by an author born in Minnesota) for Best Novel; Shoggoth's Old Peculiar by Neil Gaiman for Best Short Fiction; and The Night We Buried Road Dog by Jack Cady from DreamHaven Books (local publisher) for Best Collection.
