Proposals to run Minicon 38 will be accepted at the next Board Meeting (Feb 18th). They should include enough budget to allow for rates to be set so as to allow for memberships to be purchased at Minicon 37, a timeline of events for the year, and qualifications of the Chair / Co-Chairs and any other committee members. Lyda Morehouse sold three new novels to Laura Anne Gilman at Roc via the (now defunct) James Frenkel and Associates Literary Agency. The first two--Messiah Node and Apocalypse Array--are part of the "Archangel Protocol universe." The third is a stand-alone alternate history/urban fantasy that takes place in a 1930s St. Paul.
Neil Gaiman's American Gods was #1 hardcover on November LOCUS Bestsellers list; it was also #2 on the Barnes and Noble/B. Dalton and the Amazon.com lists published in same issue. On the December lists, it was #2 for LOCUS, Amazon.com, and Borders/Walden, and #5 for Barnes and Noble/B. Dalton. It also spent all four weeks in August on the New York Times Book Review bestseller lists between positions 21 and 28.
Lois McMaster Bujold's The Curse Of Chalion was #2 hc on November LOCUS list; #4 on Amazon.com list; #7 on both the Walden/Borders and Barnes and Noble/B. Dalton lists. On the December lists, it was #4 for LOCUS and #9 for Amazon.com
