MaryJanice Davidson, "Dead Girls Don't Dance," in Carvings (ed. anon), 2004 Jove pb

Local Publisher: Velocity Press (St. Paul) has published another anthology of work from the Ratbastards writing group: Rabid Transit: Petting Zoo (tp, 2004).

Neil Gaiman/local publisher: a cd, Speaking In Tongues, and a chapbook reprint of his short story "Shoggoth's Old Peculiar" have both just been published by DreamHaven.

The Book Of Ballads (graphic fiction illustrated by Charles Vess), a 2004 Green Man hc, includes "The False Knight on the Road" by Neil Gaiman and a reprint (from Firebirds) of "The Black Fox" by Emma Bull.

The Faery Reel (ed Datlow and Windling; Viking hc) includes new short stories "The Faery Reel" by Neil Gaiman and "De La Tierra" by Emma Bull.

Kara Dalkey's "The Lady of the Ice Garden" is reprinted in Tiptree Award Anthology 1 (ed. Karen Joy Fowler et al; a 2004 Tachyon press tp).

Joel Rosenberg provides an introduction to Legions Of Space, a Keith Laumer collection (Baen pb, 2004).

Neil Gaiman won an Israeli Gefen Award for Best Fantasy Book for his collection Smoke And Mirrors (source: Locus).

Neil Gaiman, Patricia Wrede, and Lois McMaster Bujold were among eight authors speaking at the SF and Fantasy pavilion at the National Book Awards in October in Washington DC; see the November Locus for descriptions of their talks.

Mary Jane Davidson's Undead And Unemployed was #10 paperback on the Locus Bestsellers list (November issue).
