Rash by Pete Hautman won the Hal Clement Award for Young Adult Science Fiction.

Two Minnesota authors have stories in 2007 issues of the Australian-based Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine: Timothy Mulcahy, "Speedbumps on the Road to Recovery" in #27, and Marissa K. Lingen, "Rest Stop," in #28.

Full 2007 Locus Poll results include the two wins for Neil Gaiman cited last month; additionally, Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora was runner-up for Best First Novel and placed #22 as Best Fantasy Novel, and Barth Anderson's The Patron Saint of Plagues was #12 for Best First Novel. Former locals Emma Bull and Carolyn Ives Gilman, with "What Used to Be Good Still Is" and "Okanoggan Falls" respectively, were #19 and #23 on Best Novelette list. Alan DeNiro's Skinny Dipping in the Lake of the Dead was #18 Best Collection.
