Former local Kij Johnson was again on the jury for the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award.

The Lies Of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch is a shortlist "best novel" nominee for the current British Fantasy Awards.

Naomi Kritzer has a story, "Honest Man," in the October 2007 Realms Of Fantasy.

"Okanoggan Falls" by ex-local Caroline Ives Gilman is reprinted in Year's Best Science Fiction: 24th (ed. Dozois); the "Honorable Mention" list in this volume also cites Eleanor Arnason's "Big Green Mama Falls in Love," Neil Gaiman's "How to Talk to Girls at Parties," and ex-local Emma Bull's "What Used to Be Good Still Is," along with two stories from Tales Of The Unanticipated #27: "Katabasis: Seraphic Trains" by Sarah Monette and "The Ogre's Wife" by Patricia Russo.

The Coyote Road: Trickster Tales (ed. Datlow and Windling) includes "Uncle Bob Visits" by Caroline Stevermer and "Black Rock Blues" by ex-local Will Shetterly.

The Space Opera Renaissance (ed. Hartwell and Cramer) inclues "Weatherman" by Lois McMaster Bujold.

The James Tiptree Award Anthology #3 (ed. Fowler et al) includes "Knapsack Poems" by Eleanor Arnason.

The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year, Vol. 1 (ed. Strahan) includes "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" by Neil Gaiman

Nominess for the 2007 World Fantasy Awards include Scott Lynch for The Lies Of Locke Lamora (Novel) and Greg Ketter, for DreamHaven (Special Award: Professional).

The Sharing Knife: Beguilement was #2 paperback on the August Locus Bestsellers list; MaryJanice Davidson's Undead And Unpopular was #11. The Bujold title was also #7 pb on the Barnes and Noble/B. Dalton list and #10 on the Borders/Walden list reported in the same issue.

The Summer 2007 issue of Tales Of The Unanticipated (#28) includes material from these local writers: short stories from S.N. Arly, Jeff Koube, and Ka Vang; poetry from Ruth Berman, John Calvin Rezmerski, and Bryan Thao Worra; and miscellaneous nonfiction from editors Eric M. Heideman and Rebecca Marjesdatter Korvo. Among the other contributors are at least three former Minnesotans: Laurel Winter (poetry) and Suzaane Clarke and Roger Gerberding (artwork).
