The Minn-StF Board has been informed that Joel and Matt have no interest in running Minicon 51. As such, we are soliciting bids to run Minicon 51. Bids should include enough budget to allow for rates to be set so as to allow for memberships to be purchased at Minicon 50, a timeline of events for the year, and qualifications of the Chair / Co-Chairs and any other currently known committee members.

The Minn-StF Picnic will be Saturday, July 19th, starting at 12N.

Publishing News

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman won the 2014 "Best Fantasy Novel" Locus poll, and his "The Sleeper and the Spindle" won in the Best Novelette category. Unnatural Creatures, co-edited by Gaiman, placed 5th as "Best Anthology." The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch finished third in the Fantasy Novels and his "The Effigy Engine: A Tale of the Red Hats" was #20 Novelette. Eleanor Arnason's "Kormak the Lucky" was #11 Novelette, and Alan DiNiro's "The Wildfires of Antarctica" was #16 Short Story.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane is also on the shortlists/final ballots for the World Fantasy Award (novel), the British Fantasy Award (novel).

Audio book version of Captain Vorpatril's Alliance by Lois McMaster Bujold (read by Grover Gardner) won 2014 Audie Award in the Science Fiction category, and Bujold's Falling Free is a finalist for the Prometheus (Libertarian) Hall of Fame Award.
