This time it has the correct email subject! If it doesn't, you all have permission to shame me. Minicon has once again been delayed to 2022 due to the ongoing pandemic. However, staff is optimistic that this will be the last delay. We sure hope it is. Minnesota Public Radio & Star Tribune are doing a series of online events called 'Shop the Talking Volumes: The Talking Race.' It's four separate events with four different authors who wrote books about their experience with racial divide. The books & authors are: -"Felon" by Reginald Dwayne Betts. -"Earth Keeper: Reflections on the American Land" by N. Scott Momaday -"My Year Abroad" by Chang-rae Lee -"What's Mine and Yours" by Naima Coster You can purchase tickets on the MPR website here: https://www.mprevents.org/ Read Brave has begun! This is a book club run by Saint Paul Public Library where attendees read & discuss a set of books around a certain theme. This year the theme is "Owning Our Stories: Together for a Better Saint Paul." Or more broadly self-worth, healing, reconciliation, liberation, and accountability. The main books being read are "The Stars and the Blackness Between Them" by Junauda Petrus, and "Children of the Land" by Marcelo Hernandez Castillo.
