Is it just me or does August feel like a month that shouldn't exist? When I think about things that happened in my life every year, my mind just goes June, July, September. Well, maybe these events are a good reason for August to exist. This is the monthly Einblatt for August of 2021.

On the 5th (that's tomorrow!), we'll see Christine Platt talking about 'The Afrominimalist's Guide to Living with Less' with Nicole Crowder. You can register for the event here: https://www.magersandquinn.com/index.php?main_page=event#event_2878

The 11th sees Books & Bars featuring 'Luster' by Raven Leilani. This will be a virtual event, but it also has an in-person event on the 12th! On the 16th, Saint Paul Public Library is accepting nominations for the

Coming up on the 31st is Magers & Quinn's Fall Events kickoff, starting with an author signing featuring Peter Geye, Kaia Preus, Margret Hasse, Julie Severson, Tim Brady, Gretchen Anthony, John Brandon, Liz Heinecke, Kathleen West, Ben Percy, and Alison McGhee. The next Minn-STF meeting is scheduled for the 14th, hosted by Philbrook & Brian Lundgreen. 690 Broadway St NE, Minneapolis, MN. Here's what they have to say about it:
    Indoor socializing is open to anyone who is fully vaccinated (2 weeks past final shot). Honor system - no documentation required

   Masks will not be required outdoors regardless of vaccination status
    Bathrooms available, but if you are not fully vaccinated you are requested to wear a mask and not to linger indoors

    Street parking on the side streets of Madison & Monroe. For those who need accessible parking there are a couple of spaces in the driveway.
    There may be a small dog on premises --take your allergy meds
    A small amount of beer & cider provided, so BYOB as well. 
    If you have folding chairs easily available, we might need a few extra chairs
    Gaming encouraged. Feel free to bring more games!
