In attendance were Larry Sanderson, Laura Jean Fish, Bill Christ, Geri Sullivan, Mia McDavid, and David Schroth. Before the meeting began, Mia and Geri agreed that Publications would keep a stack of Minicon 39 flyers in the little red wagon at Toad Hall. Your scribe does not know how well this plan is working. (Editorial note: Due to other considerations, the little red wagon is no longer at Toad Hall). The meeting more or less started around 1430. Laura Jean announced the department heads for Minicon 39. Larry and Laura are still looking for a parties coordinator and a gaming head. Larry wanted to know if people had privacy concerns about posting information (name, address, phone number, e-mail address, etc) for concom members on the web. Laura Jean passed out the meeting schedule. She'll e-mail the entire schedule to the entire concom. (Presumably, she and Larry will replace some of the TBDs in the schedule with real dates and locations). The meeting digressed into a discussion about food served at the meetings. (I suspect NESFA might do well if they attempted to sell copies of _We're Gonna Starve!_ to the members of the concom). The preliminary budget will be passed out at the next meeting. There is some hope that Department heads will look carefully at their budgets at this time, and negotiate any necessary changes with the co-chairs and Treasury. We need to establish a search team for a hotel for Minicon 40 (the Millennium, and supposedly most of the downtown hotels, is already booked for another convention over Easter 2005). There is a possibility of a banquet at Minicon 39. We need to have a minimum of 50 people to sign up for the banquet (at a cost of approximately $25/person). Web listing of the names of the Minicon 39 membership will change to opt-out from the current opt-in. There is a preliminary publications schedule: PR1 (one page) in the mail at the end of September PR2 (five or six pages) in the mail at the beginning of January People should start producing copy and artwork for PR2 and the Program book yesterday. Hospitality needs to schedule a planning meeting. Programming needs to schedule a planning meeting (or two). GoH liaisons need to ask their GoH if they would be interested in doing a chapbook. Laura Jean came up with A Good Idea for a chapbook by Deb Geisler. If GoH agrees to produce a chapbook, try to get content by the end of September. DavE Romm is in charge of opening and closing ceremonies. The Chairs suggested that concom members that are not yet subscribed to the concom list should do so ASAP. The next meeting will be July 27, 1400, chez Sanderson. Don't forget the MnStf picnic on August 2. Geri wanted to talk about Minicon presence at upcoming conventions, including: Westercon Convergence Diversicon Armadillocon Torcon III Midwest Construction (Ann Arbor in September) Smofcon (Chicago in December) ConFusion
