Minicon 39 Programming Meeting Saturday, Sept 20, 2003 Location: 3332 Harriet Ave South (Betsy's house) Attending: Sharon Kahn, Betsy Stemple, Magenta Griffith, Polly Peterson, Geri Sullivan, Karen Cooper, Larry Sanderson, Michael Lee, Dave Romm, Michael and Charmaine Burgess ================================================== Timeline - what do we do next? -- The First Mailing must go out well before the Oct31 pre-reg deadline, to encourage folks who might not have planned to come to change their minds while the rate is still low. Traditionally, this is where we send a nice letter to likely programming participants, inviting them to participate in programming, including a preliminary list of programming items, soliciting signs of interest in items on the list and suggestions for additional items. Question 1) Snail mail or email? Consensus answer: email to all for whom we have email address, snail mail for the others. TBD - include idea list with the snail mail, or just point them to the online copy? Question 2) How many types of contact list do we need? - Former GOHs - coordinate with Carol Kennedy, who is reportedly doing a mailing to these people. Or maybe it's David Schroth? - Regular participants: start with list of participants from last coupla years, add in other people that have regularly participated in programming in the past. - Individualized: people that we have specific items in mind for. People who may not have participated before, or who used to come to Minicon but haven't recently. These should be contacted by email, phone, or in person, if possible by someone who knows them. ACTION ITEMS Liaisons: check with GOH about specific ideas we discussed. Everybody: send me contact info for people we should be sucking in Everybody: more programming ideas! (plus any new ones I forgot to list) Sharon: contact Carol Kennedy ASAP about GOH mailing.
