Minn-StF |
The Minnesota Science Fiction Society (a.k.a. Minn-StF, MnStF, and other variants) is the non-profit organization that puts on Minicon each year. We also sometimes publish fanzines and chapbooks, sponsor events, and usually put together a small convention each fall (Convivial is the one coming up later in 2006). We're rather notorious in science fiction fandom for our "Minneapolis in '73" Worldcon bid parties. Minn-StF has now been around for 40 years or so. There are usually two Minn-StF meetings each month (traditionally on the first and third Saturdays), often in the homes of Minn-StF members in the Twin Cities metro area. These "meetings" are actually casual social gatherings (a.k.a. parties) which usually include the same stuff you might see in the consuite at Minicon. Expect food, drink, good conversation, gaming, and general silliness at most Minn-StF meetings and sometimes music, too. For more information about Minn-StF, please visit the Minn-StF website at www.mnstf.org. You might also want to check out the "What is Minn-StF?" panel (tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday) and Closing Ceremonies (3 p.m. Sunday) at Minicon 41 for more information.
