Volunteers will be needed on Thursday, all day and evening, starting early at 9:00am. Our tentative work outline looks like this:

So come and spend an extra day with your friends and see what goes on behind the scenes when setting up a convention.

We'd also like to encourage you to volunteer your time during the regular convention days. Here are some of the positions you can sign up for-

• Art Show

  Setup

  Help assemble art panels, arrange tables, hang artwork. May require some heavy lifting.

  Art Show & Print Shop

  Supervise art show viewing. Check in bags, prevent food & drink from being brought into the art show area. Run cash register & handle sales in the print shop.

  Art Auction

  Assist with holding up items for viewing.

  Teardown

  Help take down art panels, load panels to truck, assist artists picking up art work.

• Parties

  Loading/Setup

  Help with loading the contents of the storage locker onto the truck (includes art show panels and all party supplies). Assist with setting up the consuite and bar areas.

  Decorating & General Setup

  Assist with decorating the consuite and bar area, making signs, arranging tables, setting up beverage dispensers, putting out food.

  Consuite

  Assist with putting out food, cleaning up tables and trash.

  Bartending

  Bartending, assist with putting out food, cleaning up tables and trash.

  Loading/Teardown

  Help with loading the art show panels, party supplies, miscellaneous items onto the truck and then moving them in to the storage locker.

• Programming

  Green Room

  The Green Room is the hospitality room for our programming participants. Keep the food and coffee fresh, and schmooze with the programming guests and such. Fairly posh duty as it goes.

  Round Tables

  Attend and keep an eye on each of the round table discussions with our various guests.

• Publications

  Collating

  Collate pages for the program book.

• Registration

  Registration

  Assist with registration.

• Volunteers

  Volunteers Table

  Man the volunteers table. Sign up new volunteers, describe the positions available.

  Gophers

  Run errands for the Bridge Staff & department heads. Perform miscellaneous tasks.

  Badgers

  Ensure only Minicon members with a valid convention badge are allowed into conventions areas. Areas include Art Show, Consuite, Bar area. This is a great chance to get to meet new people.

• Operations

  Bridge Staff

  Assist with operations, dispatching, troubleshooting. Work in the central nervous system of the convention.
