City Pages ran an article on Lois McMaster Bujold ("Starchild") in its 30 December 1998 issue and an article/interview with Neil Gaiman ("Once Upon a Time") in the 6 Jan. 1999 issue, both by Terri Sutton.

Locus Bestsellers list in Jan 99 issue include Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman and Dragon by Steven Brust as #4 and #5 (respectively) hardcovers; Neverwhere by Gaiman as #2 paperback; and Hoka! Hoka! Hoka! co-authored by Poul Anderson and Gordon R. Dickson as #9 paperback.

In the same issue, Dragon was #10 hardcover and Neverwhere #7 paperback on the Waldenbooks bestsellers list.
