Publishing News

Gordon R. Dickson's The Right To Arm Bears was #8 paperback on the March 2001 LOCUS Bestsellers list.

The March LOCUS has a long obituary of and numerous tributes to Gordon R. Dickson, including pieces by Dave Wixon and Terry Garey.

Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors is on the shortlist ballot fot the Macmillan Silver PEN Award. (source LOCUS)

Caroline Stevermer sold Scholar of Magics, a sequel to College of Magics, to Tor.

The "preliminary ballot" for the Bram Stoker Awards includes ex-local Kij Johnson's The Fox Woman (in First Novel categoy) and local press DreamHaven Books' The Death Artist by Dennis Etchison (in Fiction Collection categoy). Final ballot will be announced circa April 1st.

Local publisher Coffee House Press has reprinted Captain Blackman by John A. Williams, a 1972 novel about a centuries-old African-American soldier who fought in all of the USA's wars.

The 2000 Final Nebula Ballot includes A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold (novel); "Stellar Harvest" by Eleanor Arnason (novelette); and Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki and Neil Gaiman (script).
