Publishing News

Laurel Winter's poem "Expedition" is in the Jan 02 ASIMOV'S.

John M. Ford's The Last Hot Time is on the "New York Times Editor's Choice and Notable Books of 2001," one of about a dozen sf titles on the list (which interpets "2001" a bit broadly...)

Kara Dalkey sold The Water Trilogy (Kara – "don't blame me, I didn't name it"), a middle-grade kids fantasy trilogy, to Harper Collins, to be published in 2002. Individual titles: Ascension, February, '02; Reunion, April '02; Transformation, June, '02. She likes to describe them as the Atlantis and Arthurian myths in a blender.

Neil Gaiman, "Other People," Oct/Nov 2001 Magazine Of F&SF

Carolyn Ives Gilman, "The Invisible Hand Rolls the Dice," Oct 2001 INTERZONE

Carolyn Ives Gilman, "The Real Thing," July 2001 Magazine Of F&SF (which I missed listing a few months back)

Jerry Stearns appeared with David Ossman of the Firesign Theater on a number of local Twin Cities Public Television "host" breaks during the December 4th showing of Firesign Theater's "Weirdly Cool" on PBS
