Honorable Mentions in Year's Best Science Fiction: 26th (ed G. Dozois) include "Orange" by Neil Gaiman and two stories by former locals: "Arkfall" by Caroline Ives Gilman and "26 Monkeys, Also the Abyss" by Kij Johnson. The Johnson story also won the Asimov's Readers Award for short stories published in 2008, and was a Sturgeon Award nominee (but was withdrawn by her as she was one of the award judges).

Undead and Unworthy by MaryJanice Davidson won the "Paranormal Fiction" category of the Romantic Times 2008 Readers Choice Awards.

Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book was #9 hc on the June Locus Bestsellers list.

Neil Gaiman news: Subterranean Press published a limited hc reprint of The Graveyard Book (for $250). Odd And The Frost Giants (hc) due in September; graphic novel version of Coraline (art by P.
