From einblatt-list@mnstf.org Fri Sep 2 05:45:14 2022 Date: Fri, 2 Sep 2022 05:45:11 From: Einblatt To: matthew.strait@startraders.mn Subject: Einblatt Current (August 2022) Do you remember the 21st night of September, or are you sleeping until September ends? Either way, have an Einblatt. I've been in Nebraska for three days and need to catch up on Final Fantasy XIV crafting. I could probably do that while writing this, but the interns tell me that's a bad idea. They also pointed out there's a cut-off paragraph in the last email regarding Decongestant, which I'm gonna blame Windows's shoddy copy/paste tool on. I don't think I lost anything important though, so onto the news: September 10th: Outdoor/garage meeting, hosted by Carol Kennedy and Jonathan Adams. Must be fully vaccinated including available booster(s) unless medically verified exemption. (We won't ask for proof, but expect honesty.) Masks not required outside or in garage, but wear them if you prefer. Bathroom available in the house; must wear an N95 or KN95 mask in the house--we will provide. We will have hand sanitizer, and refreshments will be set up so hands don't go in dishes (individual plastic forks, etc.). Bring your own chair if possible. Theoretically there's a meeting on the 17th. Keep an eye on the calendar. The 24th sees a Minn-STF Cemetery Tour guided by Linda Lounsbury! It'll last from 3-4:30 PM. Keep the shovels at home though. Park (free) inside the cemetery gates (36th and Hennepin) and meet at the main administrative building (a large white/grey building with columns). Tour will not attempt to cover the entire gigantic cemetery, just a carefully chosen sector on the north side. We’ll visit the graves of Cliff Simak & Gordon Dickson, plus movers and shakers in the larger society and a few less famous. Linda can supply maps for anyone wanting to drive or bike ahead to meet the walking group along the way. The route is expected to take about an hour and a half at a leisurely pace. Afterwards, the group will gather in Linda's backyard (4125 Dupont Ave) for a potluck meal and Minnstf meeting. Richard Tatge hosts a weekly GAME PARTY at Dream Park! 6:30 to late every Friday evening (excluding conventions). Board, card, and hobby games in splendid profusion. Huge collection, but feel free to bring your own. Covid vaccination required; masks may be required depending on conditions. Munchies provided. 4002 Pillsbury Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55409. Phone: (612) 827-3228.
