postmortem Comments by the Group of the Green Star

facilitated by Erik Baker

Things we liked

Masquerade was good and there was a good selection of panels. The masquerade went smoothly and the room arrangement was extremely good with this year's new Location.

The new layout of rooms went well, and the media room went well.

The programming green room, Minneapolis in '73 and the new location of the drum jam were good.

The arrangement of Dark Star was better, more of a coffee house feel.

The parties poolside were better arranged.

Minneapolis in '73 has changed for the better. I had concerns about the move to the North Tower, but hit is better, don't fix it.

Art show was much improved over the last year.

Minneapolis in '73 was awesome.

Minicon was not crazy enough.

Cafe Samurai was good, but a little intense.

It was good that there was no rave.

Hotel was good.

Liked gaming over in the Sofitel.

Registration went smoothly in line (said the head of registration). The volunteer spirit was good and people were nice to me with beer.

The types of beer were good choices.

The room parties were good, as was the drum jam conga line.

The panels were good.

Theresa did a good job with volunteers.

Teamsters were great.

Most people found the connection they wanted to find.

NASA was happy and Anna was a great liaison

Consuite

The consuite was less inviting than it used to be.

There were a lot of unused rooms

It was easier to fight your way out than your way in. Maybe try reversing the flow?

I miss the old "hanging out at the bar feel.

Look at pool court.

Drum Jam Tangent

There was agreement that the placement was better. In the past, the drum jam has obliterated open parties. Many people like the drum jam, but not in the pool area.

Problems and Suggestions

Is it logistically feasible to divide smoking up and down? Answer, "no".

Temporary badges should have a space to write the expiration date.

Minnesota Munchie Movement needs more volunteers and more space.

Hotel room assignment was frustrating. Need to fix the timeline.

Programming had a major meltdown at the con.

Most of the programs happened when they were supposed to.

The pocket program was a disaster.

There were difficulties in Programming ops.

The list of programming items before the con was not sent out. This was a choice of the exec.

Per one of the three heads of programming, programming melted down before the con when they became burned out.

Programming got comments that programming ops was helpful rather than not helpful.

The Bozo Bus Tribune should be independent.
