This is a scan and OCR of minutes found in a binder, done in 2021. I have corrected OCR errors, but left original errors intact, and marked them with "[sic]". ================================================================================ MN-STF Board of Directors - - minutes - - meeting of July 10, 1990 at the Don Bailey home. Present: Board: Bailey, Schafer, Ihinger, Johnson Officers: Tuttle, Lien Others: Terry Garey, Victor Raymond ******************************************************************************** Meeting called to order at 7:50 PM. Agenda: Minicon Directed Profit Management Style classes for? What are Minicon Goals? Art Show Panels Einblatt Copy Cards Terry Garey Next Meeting Rob was here within 5 minutes of the appointed time. Terry Garey: The anthology is pretty much set. Most of the material has been chosen. Geri Sullivan will be doing the typesetting. There is a possibility of a $500 amount of expenses over the approved $2500. If the costs get out of hand there will not be a hardbound publication. Costs of up to $3000 total will be tolerated by the Board. Einblatt Copy Cards: 6 cards would get the Einblatt publication through the end of the year. The Board approved the early expenditure of these monies. Art Show Panels: Don would like to paint the rest of the Art Show Panels. The cost would be approximately $150. The Board approved this. Management Style Classes for ?: Honeywell, United Way and the Management Assistance Project give classes and were talked to. Honeywell will give us the same rate as the United Way gets. Group Process/Team Dynamics is recommended. $150 each is the cost. Thought of sending the Exec members. Also ideas of a licensed psychologist . The Board is deferring this subject until a later date. What are Minicon goals?: The size group recommends a goal statement be written, either from the Board or a Committee. Minicon needs to be emphasized as other than a MNSTF fund raiser. There is something to MINICON intangible that builds community, etc. Directed Profit: How do we want to restrict the committees' decisions. Idealprofit [sic] is $14000. What is our bottom line(taking our reserves into account)? The yearly expenses are $14000. If the profit is under $10000 we will constrict our operations for the year. How much experimentation do we allow the committee and the Exec with what we tell them. If Minicon makes $13000 to 14000 we will continue as we are. If more than $14000 we will expand. The Board does not want the committee to toss valuable ideas due to financial considerations. The bottom limit is $7000 (best guess). If it looks like less than that than [sic] talk to the Board Fall Con Wrap up: They lost money. They took in $1400 and spent $2200. Losses were due to the dance, the hotel function space being changed (by the hotel), no Art Auction, and bank charges as the major things. There was not enough intra committee communication. Next meeting: August 23, 1990 at 7:30PM at the Karen Johnson home. 1682 Rose Hill Circle Lauderdale, MN. 55108 The meeting was adjourned at 11:00PM.
