Minn-Stf Board of Directors Meeting of 24 APRIL 1995 The present: Dean Gahlon, Kay Drache, Eric Heideman, Eileen Lufkin, Polly Peterson, and Karen Cooper. The absent: Martin Schafer sends his regrets. As the meeting got down to business, Eileen fled. The agenda: 1) Eric and TOTU 2) Club Vice President: Who? The hidden agenda: Not disclosed at this time. This slow-starting meeting led us to discuss walking as exercise, which we eventually determined to be Better than Not. 1) Eric provided from memory all the publication dates for TOTU -- 14 disties over 9 years. (Polly wrote them down.) In fact, Eric has a remarkable amount of information about TOTU stored in his on-board memory system and no where else. Lengthy discussion produced the following overview of the problem: TOTU is being printed in lots of 1000. It has 92 subscribers; another 50 or so are consigned to various places around town. The others are slowly, slowly sold over the course of years. (Issue #2, the first one with a 1000 copy print run, has not sold out yet.) In the mean time, they sit in Eric's apartment. TOTU needs a circulation manager, we all agree. The Board further feels that reducing the print run is a good idea. Eric suggested cutting back to a 750 copies/issue. We like the idea of cutting it back to 500 copies/issue. Eric is to investigate other sources for printing, and report back. Ideas for whom to tap as Circulation Manager were bantered about to no strong conclusion. (One problem here is that Eric runs TOTU in a very hands-on fashion. How do we find a balance between that and giving someone a chance to do the job their way?) Karen suggested further that keeping a better track of the on-going finances of the project would be a good thing. Polly thought that she could produce a fill-in-the-blanks accounting sheet so that Eric could easily provide sales and income information. 2) VP's --> Don Bailey Other: Falafil: what is it? Is it good? Karen made falafil sandwiches for the Board, which were found to be most tasty by Dean. Next Meeting: 22 MAY 95 at 7:30 at the home of Karen Cooper, 3841 Bloomington Ave. South. 722-7545 or 728-3866.
