This is a transcription of scanned minutes done by Matt Strait in 2020. The intent was to transcribe exactly without corrections, however I may certainly have introduced new typos or inadvertently corrected some. Noticed typos are marked with "[sic]". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MinnStf Board Meeting 20 February 1997 At Kay's. Present: Kay, Dean, Lynn, Polly, Martin 1. Financial Items: The checking account from the Grand Triumverate [sic] Minicon is gradually being eaten by service fees. The signers are Polly, Margo, Victor, David Messer. The money needs to be transfered [sic] to savings for now, possible transfer to the main MinnStf account later. Checking = $52, savings ~1500. * Polly will close the checking account. Kay has several items to give to Julie. We received our tax forms and a letter from the IRS. They got our letter about last years taxes - they are charging us 1cent in interest, but no fees. We need the 1996 financial records from Julie (MinnStf) and Mark Richards (Minicon) as soon as possible. 2. Minicon Problems - Registration is behind, but not as bad as a week ago. - The publications have had major problems all along. The most recent one was missing Kate Carey's phone # (head of registration) and the registration update, while several other heads were not consulted before having their numbers printed. - Tom is working 6 or 7 days a week, which does not allow him enough time to do Exec, much less Publications in addition. [marginal note: "He is doing well considering"] - Childcare has a plan, which will have to be good enough for this year. Hopefully next year will have better PR. Polly will call Joel Rosenberg in response to his e-mail about this year's situation. 3. Kay is doing Insurance for Minicon - estimated premium of $500 plus a rider for equipment at Minicon. This goes from 4-1-97 to 3-31-98. The storage locker bill will be $92/mo. for the next year, due soon. 4. The Mark Time Award would like to know if we can give them financial support we discussed months ago. We approve a maximum of $600.00 for Jerry Stearns to spend on this project. 5. Eric Heideman - can't do the coupon for TOTU by this Minicon. We wants to do it right, and that will take more prep time. Next year there will be a new TOTU out and a catalog of the back issues. Agenda for next time: (time to be chosen by new board) Orientation of new board members - Recent issues - Financial report Selection of club officers ------------------------------------------------------------------------
