Chuck Holst brought up the Picknickon planning. Various dates were suggested, notably the weekend before the 4th of July, and the weekend of the 14th (other dates tended to conflict with Midwestcon, Wilcon, or, in the case of the 4th, with 200 million mundanes). There was general agreement that last year's spot on the banks of the unspellable Wisconsin river which can be approximated as "Kinikinik" would be fine, and that everyone should bring their own food. Saturday, July 14th, was selected as date, and Chuck volunteered to be sort-of-chair- person. Upcoming meetings: June 26 (Hobbitat); July 7 (Odren-Stearns); July 17 (Hobbitat). Margie Lessinger asked who was planning to go to Midwestcon. After a headcount, a figure of 8 out and 7 back was arrived at ((note as of Nov. 14: actual figure turned out to be 6 out and 5 back)). Frank Stodolka asked who was planning to go Torcon. A headcount showed 10 or 12 ((actual figure turned out to be at least twice that. Someone announced that we had individually and as a group received yet another questionnaire from an academic (one Bill Titus), this one requesting help in constructing an s-f reading course. Volunteers were to gather to collaborate on a reply. Somebody else, or possibly the same somebody (after five months, does it matter?), reminded everyone to sign the sign-in sheet, and a possible third somebody else moved adjournment. Meeting adjourned at 4:30. A bit over-dueishly constructed, [signed:] Denny Lien Dennis Lien Sercon Secretary ================================================================================
