Business meeting called to order at 3:10. Chuck Holst asked for volunteers to host upcoming meetings. Volunteers volunteered as follows: August [rest of line thoroughly obliterated] 14, Chuck Holst; August 25, Bev Swanson; Sept. 8, Mark Schafer; Sept. 22, Stearns-Odren. A totally cryptic note, "rotate and recruit at 2301," follows in the official minutes. 2301 is the house number both of Holst and Swanson, but what was to be rotated and what recruited at either abode has slipped into the mists of memory. Someone pointed out a number of Minn-STF and pro birthdays clustering around the upcoming August 25th. Frank Stodolka announced a number of upcoming movies of sf and fantasy interest, and asked about rides to Torcon. Denny Lien announced that tapes of the Brave New Workshop's (abortive) would-be radio show, "Interstellar Follies," would be available for the next meeting, courtesy of a charming and lovely and helpful Brave New Workshop actress named Doris Lien. Chuck Holst asked that copies of the incorporation papers be supplied to all officers and board members. Caryl Bucklin gave a report on shelving for the Minn-STF library. Caryl Bucklin gave an informal Treasurer's Report: the accounts in our new bank have just been opened; assets are _circa_ $600. Someone (Chuck?) raised the question of the Minn-STF a.k.a. Minneapolis in '73 party at Torcon: how much should the treasury contribute for supplies? Someone suggested $35; Lien moved $50; Dick Tatge seconded and $50 passed by almost-acclamation, Gerry Wassenaar voting against solely because he doesn't like to see things pass by acclamation. A discussion on Canadianmanship began: how to get there and back, has to bring in money, get birth certificates, rates of exchange, price of booze, etc. Secretary left to walk his dog, appointing his hoax [sic], Fred Haskell, as Temporary Honorary Acting Secretary. Following notes in said Haskell's hand are self-explantary [sic], so I won't: "Jim Young was unavailable for comments on Minicon 8. Question re proposed GOH: has he been asked? Also, how to kidnap Asimov and fly him here? Cliff Simak's birthday was yesterday." At this point dog finished being walked and usual Secretary returned and asked people to sign the sign-up sheets. Chuck Holst proposed a second Picnickicon of the year for August 18th. Bev Swanson announced a _Rune_ meeting for next Monday (6 Aug). Someone suggested adjournement [sic] and we did at 3:45.
