An Evening with Harlan Ellison® |
Thursday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. Harlan Ellison® was recently characterized by The New York Times Book Review as having "the spellbinding quality of a nonstop talker, with a cultural warehouse for a mind." An apt description of one of America's most honored writers. His credits go on for pages, but he is perhaps best known for his contributions to such television shows as Star Trek (the original series), The Outer Limits, and Burke's Law, and for being a regular on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect show on ABC-TV. Harlan will read, talk, and answer questions. He is excruciatingly funny, deadly serious, entertaining, thought-provoking, emphatic, and a whole lot of other colorful adjectives. Boring, he's not. Admission is $10.00, or free with a Minicon 41 full-attending membership. Seating is limited. Tickets are available in advance at DreamHaven Books (912 West Lake Street, Minneapolis / 612-823-6161). Books by Harlan Ellison will be available for purchase at the event. An Evening With Harlan Ellison is presented by Minicon 41 and the Minnesota Science Fiction Society. Minicon 41 is a weekend-long science fiction convention at the Sheraton, featuring panel discussions, readings, films, an art show, a vendor's room, good parties, and general silliness. Membership for the convention is $55.00 (your ticket for this event is good for $10.00 off the cost of a membership). For more information about the convention, visit the Minicon 41 website at http://www.mnstf.org/minicon41/ Fliers are available at DreamHaven, you can pick up one for yourself or a friend, or multiple copies to distribute elsewhere. |
