Minicon is changing hotels!

Please note that although Minicon 53 is once again at a DoubleTree hotel, we are not at the same DoubleTree that we have been. Minicon 53 will be at the DoubleTree in Saint Louis Park at 394 and 100. See below for more information.

Minicon is moving! Instead of being at the same hotel this year, we're going to be at... a different DoubleTree. Specifically the Saint Louis Park DoubleTree at 394 and 100. That's right, we're packing up and moving down the road.

While we do love the our old hotel, and we will miss it dearly, we believe that this is a good change and sincerely believe this will be a better space for our convention. We hope that you will feel the same way, and we still plan to put on the best convention that we can.

Looking for registration?

If you're looking to pick up your badge or buy a membership at the convention, you'll find registration on the second floor of the hotel. It's overlooking the atrium over the Dover Restaurant & Bar. If you're having trouble finding it, it's on the opposite side of the atrium from the pool, and we'll have signage up to help you find it.

Room Rates and Booking

Room rates for traditional single and double sleeping rooms are $89 if booked by March 8th. Suites (near the pool) are $119. Whirlpool rooms (very limited quantity) are $119. And Executive Level Rooms (Near Consuite) are $109. All rates are good until March 8th. After that date, you will get whatever the best rate the hotel offers (typically quite a bit higher).

We are in the process of determining how many rooms need to be set aside for Minicon (Green room, teen room, parties, other). You may not hear that you have a non-regular room immediately, but someone should contact you within a week to let you know that your request was received.

Getting a room is the best way to experience Minicon! Filling our room block is how we pay the hotel for function space. If we fill enough, the space is free, which allows us to maintain our low registration rates. So PLEASE get your hotel registration in before March 8. We are at a smaller hotel this year – You very probably will end up paying a higher rate if your hotel room is not reserved by March 8.
