Annual budget for meetings

Effective 2023, the board budgets $3400 annually for meetings.

The board suggests that the president schedule approximately two meetings per month, which include, each year, a pool party, about three picnics, and a New Year's Eve party, with the rest being regular meetings in members' houses. The president is empowered to schedule meetings at other frequencies, schedule other sorts of meetings, and/or choose a different mix of meeting types as long as it fits within the budget.

Stipends for different sorts of meetings

• Regular meetings in members' houses: $100 refreshment stipend
• Picnics: $100 refreshment stipend, and up to about $150 for site rental (the president can ok higher rental costs)
• Pool parties: $250 refreshment stipend, and up to about $350 room rental (the president can ok higher rental costs)
• New Year's Eve: $200 refreshment stipend
• Others: $100 refreshment stipend by default; the president should ask the board if more is desired

Stipend philosophy

Meeting refreshment stipends are only meant to partially cover the cost of food and drink at meetings. Hosts are encouraged to encourage other attending members to contribute food and drink.
