Transportation
Shuttles leave the hotel at the top of each hour for the Mall of America between the hours of 10am and 10pm most days and 11am and 7pm on Sundays.
Shuttles leave for the airport every half hour, 24 hours a day.
The nearest light rail station (Bloomington Central Station) is three blocks away. And of course there are stations at both the Mall of America and the airport.
Internet & Phone connectivity
There is free wireless internet access throughout the entire hotel. There are also wired internet jacks/ports available in the rooms on the 13th floor. Some people have found the wi-fi signal a bit weak at times, others of us have had no trouble with it at all.
Free local phone calls. If you’ve gotta make a local call to an area restaurant or somebody else, you can make those calls for free from the hotel phones.
Nifty Pool Area
Hours: 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.
The pool is accessible via a staircase that starts on the second floor (pool area is on the first floor). You’ll need a hotel room key to access the pool area, but if you aren’t staying in the hotel we can probably hook you up with a key when you want to use the pool.
There’s a “junior Olympic size” pool that one brochure says is the biggest pool in Bloomington, though we aren’t sure we buy that. It is a nice pool. Also in the pool area: a reasonably sized hot tub, sauna, a ping pong table, foosball table, a shuffleboard court, and arcade games.
Sadly, the pool is not very accessible as it seems the only way to get to the pool is via a staircase, though we’re looking into that. It’s also nowhere near the consuite and the rest of our space, but it is available should you want to check it out. If there was one thing we’d change about the hotel– it’s that the pool would be more accessible.
Fitness Center

Accessible from the second floor near where you access the pool area. Or from the third floor.
You can find out a lot more about this rather large fitness center on their website at appletreefitness.com. In addition to offering a wide array of fitness gear, they also have massage therapists on staff who’ll provide massage. And tanning booths, not that we imagine anyone is interested in that. There is a charge for massage and tanning services.
