Panels and Events at Minicon 54

From discussions and demonstrations with our Guests of Honor, to bar trivia, to a Prince music circle, Minicon has a full weekend of fun and intersting panels and events scheduled throughout the weekend. Space Limited Events

Some of the events will have size limitations. In the interests of fairness, and to resolve issues brought up at previous conventions, participants will be chosen by lottery. You may sign up on the Friday of the convention at the registration table, or before the convention by sending an email to proREMOVEgramming@miniconTHIS54.mnstf.org with the subject "Small group event request". You may sign up for any number of the events, but you may sign up for each event only once. See the full rules below for more information.

If you sign up by email, please include the following:

• Your name
• The name(s) of the event you want to sign up for.

The events listed here require signing up to participate and the attendees will be chosen by lottery. In chronological order, they are:

1. Blue Pencil Critique with Gerald Brandt

   Saturday, April 20 - 5:00 PM

   Author Gerald Brandt will read the first three to four pages of an author's current work and do a ten to fifteen minute critique. This event is limited to five people.

2. Crappy Card Magic Draft

   Saturday, April 20 - 5:00 PM

   A very casual Magic draft created entirely with cards from the cheapie bin or donated leftovers that didn't fit into someone's deck. Players will draft a 60 card deck, and have a chance to play with and try out the mechanics of some of the less commonly used cards. If you plan to keep your deck, bring either $2 or 40 spells and 20 basics to replace the cards. Feel free to bring more cards to donate for future games. This event is limited to fifteen people.

3. Kaffeklatch with Naomi Kritzer

   Sunday, April 21 - 10:00 AM

   Kaffeeklatch with Naomi Kritzer is a Kaffeeklatch with coffee and snacks. This event is limited to ten people.

4. Kaffeklatch with Jane Yolen and Adam Stemple

   Sunday, April 21 - 1:30 PM

   Kaffeeklatch with Jane Yolen and Adam Stemple is a Kaffeeklatch with coffee and snacks. This event is limited to ten people.

Lottery Rules

• Attendees must be registered members of the convention.
• Pre-convention signups are available by emailing proREMOVEgramming@miniconTHIS54.mnstf.org with the subject "Small group event request", and including your name and the names of the events that you want to sign up for.
• At-con signups are available at the registration table on Friday, April 19 until 9:00 PM, after which the winners will be drawn.
• You may only sign up once per each event, you may enter each lottery only once. Names with duplicates will be removed from the drawing and added back in only if space permits.
• Each request is for one person to attend. If your name is chosen, it is for you only.
• Each lottery submission is for the person whose name is entered into the lottery. Please do not hold a spot for someone else.
• The lottery drawing will be held on Friday evening after 9:00PM and will be posted before 10:00AM on Saturday.
