Minicon 5

Minicon 5 was held 15–17 October 1971 at the Andrews Hotel (Minneapolis). It was the second Minicon in 1971 and was at least roughly a relaxacon-style convention, having no guest of honor and somewhat less programming than adjacent spring Minicons. After Minicon 9, also in the fall, later MN-stf conventions in the fall would be given names other than "Minicon". It was chaired by Louis Fallert and Blue Petal, who are the same person. It had a membership of about 100.

Program Book

small Minicon 5 program book cover

Here is Minicon 5's program book. (Actually, "book" is kinda an overstatement. It's a single folded sheet.) You can have it as a nice monotone PDF (recommended — 0.5 MB), as a raw scan, ridiculously high resolution PDF (really good only if you are on a very fast connection and interested in the grain of the paper used — 44 MB), or a text-only transcription (1.8 kB). And here are images of the individual pages:

Flyer

Here's a flyer advertising the convention. It's a photo of the original marker drawing of the flyer. We presume that the flyer ended up being reproduced and used, but that's just an assumption!
