What is Minicon?

Minicon is a fan run science fiction convention run by the Minnesota Science Fiction Society, or MNStF. It is held yearly on Easter weekend. Never been to an SF convention? Here's a short introduction to what we're all about.

Minicon features panel discussions, readings, signings, costuming, films, gaming (open and organized), an art show, dealers, kids' programming, a science room, filk and folk music, a consuite and bar, room parties, various special events, and more parties.

For the latest on Minicon 44, including reports from the convention, please check out the Minicon Livejournal. You might also want to follow Minicon on Twitter.

Here is the pocket program, which includes the schedule of panels and much more.

Guests of Honor

Our guests of honor will be author Karl Schroeder, artist Stephan Martiniere, and scientist Seth Shostak! We're sorry to report that Stephan Martiniere has had a family tragedy and will be unable to join us at Minicon this year.

Minicon is totally volunteer run. We can always use a hand, most often around the consuite and bar. To volunteer during the convention, look for Lisa at the Dreamhaven table in the dealers' room or Seven in the bar (room 218) and they'll put you to work now or schedule you for a future shift.

We'd also love your help putting together next year's Minicon! Let us know that you're interested by checking the box on your Minicon 45 pre-registration form. Announcements of meetings will also be posted on the Minicon web site and in the Einblatt.
